Anyone wanna host an install day?

Or help me do an install?

Went for a quick drive to buy some groceries and the space between the hood and fender was HOT!! Like it hurt my hand. Only drove like 10 minutes. I may be paranoid but I wanna put back my stock one. If you are skilled enough then I hope you can put on the SPT one, everytime I try i end up messing up where the bolt goes.

the SPT one is a cover that goes OVER the existing one... it's like a garnish that has function. It helps the factory heat shield hold in the heat. your car is dark dude and the paint will hold in the heat way more than a lighter car. Here's the description: Click Here

you put it together and we'll show up.

i took it to munky wurks to install and sean insisted that it was fine with just the SPT one. He was already irritated since he dropped a bolt and spent a good hour trying to get it back. So I let him just put the SPT one.

ya I just read about how if the heat is bad enough it will affect the paint. It was pretty hot and burned my hand quick. I rather just have the stock one alone so I can rest easy. Plus if sean (experienced wrencher) can drop a bolt I think most people will have the same problem.

I don't have a proper garage because I live in an apartment. I don't even have the right tools, just a wrench the size of my hands. Anyone down for this weekend? We can have 2-3 guys come help put back my heat shield. Drinks are on me?

Honolulu Park Place.

They made it longer for 08+ So it reaches the bolt locations on the bottom.

is this what your engine bay looks like?

this shouldn't take that long dude and the hardest part will be if the heat shield has been bent a little... you won't know this unless the bolt hole don't line up anymore.

FYI since the lower bolts are a ***** most of us remove them. you don't need every bolt on there.

yup, that's how engine bay looks. i'm glad it won't take long :-D but my bad luck might cause delay.

whenever you got time infek. Guess it would work best if we host at my place so the engine bay can stay cool. Ya I was thinking of not installing all 7 bolts since I'm fearing dropping them. Probably 5 good ones should be just as good for the stocker. If we can get the SPT on I'd be happy but I think i'll just try to sell it already, too much headache for me.

it sounds like you really want that SPT shield on there. We will figure it out and see if we can have both.

I'll let you know before Saturday.

wish this would have been brought up earlier and maybe i would have held out on putting on all my parts if i would have known that there was going to be a possible install day. have yet to make one of these events in the past year i have been in i club.
