Roadtrips are the bomb. I remember driving from Oakland to Vancouver (Canada) during one summer. Unforgettable!! Good luck w/ your tune, Nate.

Man I just looked at the map, I am less than 5 hours from 29 Palms, CA. I lived there for 5 months. I'd like to go back to CA, and then to Vega. I'm out of money though. This trip has tapped me dry.

So how was that efi class? Did they give any lectures on cam tuning?
EFI class was good, not really any talk of cam tuning. It is EFI tuning, not changing the mechanics of the car. Unless I understand what you mean by cam tuning wrong.

Yeah, I bet the teacher didn't spend too much time on spark tuning, neither, huh?

He did spend time on spark tuning.

I just set a new personal record. I was pulled over twice tonight in less than 30 min. No tickets ! First time I passed an unmarked police truck at 90 in a 75, or I guess the speed limit turns to 65 at night in Texas. The cop thought I was making drugs because I have a few gallons of xylene in my back seat. He also wondered why I had "piping" in my back seat. He was refering to my new 5MT driveshaft. If he had looked in the trunk he would have seen half a car. I have a full 5MT tranny with all parts needed for a 4EAT to 5MT swap minus a rear diff. He let me go since he had no way to prove how fast I was going, and he was cool. Then less than half an hour later I got pulled over because my licence plate lights are out. I didn't know that they were out, but the cops wrote me a warning. When they called my car in the US Marshall that pulled me over the first time sounded really pissed and said to burn me. Too bad for them I didn't do anything wrong the second time. I had to get out of the car and I almost got patted down. I checked the lights out when I stoped and I think I must have blown a fuse. I'll check in the morning. BTW there are road blocks down here looking for illegals I guess. All of the interstate traffic gets stopped and searched. Texas is fun.

I got all of this for $800 plus tax off of a car with 22k on it that still started and I shifted through all gears:

5MT Trans
trans mounts
trans x-member
2 Front Axels
Driveshaft
Manual Pedal Set
2 Cluth slave
2 Clutch Master
Flywheel
Exedy Clutch
Pressure plate
Shifter
Shift Linkage
Shift boot
Shift Plate
All plugs and a large chunk of the wiring harness from those plugs

I think that is it. I would have gotten the rear diff w/ LSD also, but it was damaged. The left rear axel was jamed in the tranny. Now I really need a rear diff.

Oh yeah I drove from the Grand Canyon to Farmington, NM. The road is straight for miles and miles. It goes throught the painted desert. There is no one out there between the reservations. I got to hit 145 MPH on the way through there. I would run out of road before I could get going any faster.

Nate are you going around the world and back or something? I thought at first you were just driving from CA to home, but as I was reading it seemed like you said you were going towards california.. what was the purpose of the trip? and how much has gas been costing you?

Dan I tried to call you today. Call me tomorrow. 812-870-5337. I am in Texas. Read my posts because I am too tired to explain why I am here.

I went to Mexico today, got some Apple coke, and some tasty taco's. I also got pulled over and got a speeding ticket for 13 over. That gives me a new record of 3 times of being pulled over in less than 24 hours. 1 ticket, 1 written warning, and one verbal warning. I am driving back to Indiana tomorrow.

Well I am back. I got back tuesday at 11:00 AM. Me and Jorge drove from Houston, TX all the way through to Indiana. I only got pulled over one more time, and it was in Tenessee. They let me off without a ticket.
