Idle Problems

Anyone know of different things that can make the idle go high and or fluxuate between 1200 and 1500 RPMs? I was thinking possible vacuum leak but I see no broken lines. Furthermore, my ECU has a problem I think cause a few months after the swap it would misfire on 1&3 cylinders and it would stop if you kicked the area where the ECU is, so I was thinking there was a wiring problem but I dont know much about the electrical system. Im gonna try to take it to Vakamon tomorrow so they can have a look at it, but if anyone here has any ideas or experience with a GC with a '02 WRX swap please let me know! Thanks in advance guys.

change pcv, which located under the ic. car quest sells it for $2. other than that it could be a bad gap, ground or vacuum leak as you say.

Yeah I just read about the IAC gonna try cleaning it if I can find it. The PCV is under the IC? As in remove the IC to get to it? IF anyone has done this let me know if it worked.

myself, including Jon(infek), and Jeff(wrxflip) that i know of has done it....as for me, it was part of my 30k service, didn't have to..but i did it anyway...the old one was in decent shape, so don't know if i could help you if it worked or not...it's only like $9 or so at Subaru...one of the ways you could tell it's no good, if you take it out and shake it and if the ball inside the pcv doesn't have that smooth flow, then go ahead and change it...when i compared mine with the old one, you could tell the difference ...hope that helps...

do not look for it with the car warm if you pull the wrong hose you could get coolant shot everywhere and burn yourself pretty bad (like i did).i thought i had the right hose and turned out to be the coolant line that goes to the TB.
