thx!

I'd agree as to feel, but typically even big brake kits don't reduce stopping distance much, let alone "huge". Most stock brakes are capable of locking up the wheels. The tires are more important with regards to stopping distance. Big brake kits empower more agressive stops repeatedly without fade, especially with brake ducts and good brake fluid (I use Castrol SRF). If you look at some of the StopTech testing utilizing stock brakes versus their big brake kits you'll see the difference in stopping distance isn't much. I can't imagine why both posters have standard wheel lug nuts with no locks. Practically asking to lose your wheels. I'd recommend some lightweight lug nuts that are lockable (I use the Ray's). Lastly, drilled rotors are fine for the street but are not recommended for track use as they tend to develop cracks near the holes. Even slotted rotors are usually overkill (I use slotted rotors) for most modern pads as the "gassing" of older pads is pretty much non-existent with new pad technology.

Hey San, how ya been? The lugs that I am using are not true wheel locks, but they do require an adapter to remove-spline type...don't want to to lose them Version 7s...I love those wheels. So how is your black beast doing?

I didnt do a big brake kit install as most people do. I went with slotted OEM sized rotors(Stop Tech), Hawk street pads, Goodridge SS lines and Motul DOT 4 brake fluid. I really didnt have to replace the stock rotors but some people were reporting warping with the OEM parts so i figured i would replace them before it becvame a problem.

292.38 whp/297.24 tq on pump. 324.26 whp/338.32 tq on 50/50 race gas & pump. Pump is 93. Under 3000 pounds. Getting ready to retire and I find my skills are quite marketable so who knows what's next. I've always thought that a high-rev motor is better than a larger displacement motor that doesn't rev. Just me. 35K on the motor and that's only because I had to go to Atlanta and Chattanooga a few times. Right around 6K per year. Thinking about leasing a Toyota Crewmax ($200 a month) and towing my car to wherever. It will also let me work on the car. I have lots of parts I can't install as I don't have the time (retiring, single parent, drinking beer, etc).

Those are some good numbers for a streetable vehicle. If I was to ever embark on a power program 300-325 whp is what I would aspire to. I hear you about the motor size. I know Subaru had their reasons about the bump in displacement for the STi, but I always felt that they took the easy way out. The 320 ps and 44kgm of torque they pull out from the current RA-R is impressive that it is from a two liter motor and that 8 grand redline is much more sexay than the 7 grand of the USDM STi. If ever the ECU tuning be possible here in Hawaii, I'd love to get my hands on that type of motor and slip it into my car when it becomes necessary.

I am thinking about the 2.35 Axis motor that runs up to 9.5K rpm. I believe I will be seeing a six-figure income the first week of June, in addition to my normal Air Force pay. Basically I'll "double dip" for three months. That and a relocation bonus will let me do whatever I want. At that point, I have to start looking at a new transmission. I see a PPG dogbox in my future. "Go big or go home" and I'm a long way from home.

Sam's Club has picked up the Bridgestone line so you can pick the RE750's up from them now...comparable pricing...
