So its cheaper and gives more power? If that's the case, yes we really need that **** here.

where have you been? E85 is 85% ethanol which is rated at like 105 octane.

not to mention the initial investment to convert your car over to accept E85. I think I am going to base my next duty station in the states off of who has E85 in abundance. so probably somewhere in the midwest.

most new cars should be fine with e85. the fuel lines will need to be replaced sooner

The really really cool part to me is that it burns cooler. There are some tests on nabisco where after a dyno pull the motor actually cooled down instead of heated up. EGT's with e85 hardly breach 1500 even on full dyno pulls. That has got to work wonders for engine wear and tear, not being subjected to high heat probably increases reliability a ton.

the only problem is ethanol is very corrosive and orings and fuel lines will need to be changed but for tuning it is the shiz!!

Lol I've never cared about it since we don't have it here. Plus I'm not looking for every last drop of power I can get. I like the way my car is already.

Many people have run e85 for years on their WRX with no issue. Don't read to much into the fuel line corrosion stuff.

^^so how does that work? is it like the delorean in Back to the Future 2 where you throw scraps in the back or in our case we just go to Foodland and buy up all the corn and make E85 with it?

I wonder what it would take to get E85 out in Hawaii? who would we have to petition or request it from? of course after the tax ****'s of Hawaii get a hold of it, it will probably be as expensive as premium.

Just call someone at Tesoro or something and ask why they don't have e85 there.

Here in Spokane there is ONE station...back in Cincinnati there were quite a few. That was one thing I knew I would be giving up. But then again, I have yet to actually do my turbo/injectors/fuel pump/tune so it is well off in the horizon and I will possibly have a different car by the time I put together the money to make it happen.
