I need 3D modeling software

I'm trying to design something.
I don't want to give it away, BUT

Imagine the low end torque and response of a supercharger,
with the high end power and efficiency of a turbocharger.
It's the best of both worlds and I have the design. I have done quite a few calculations and a lot of drawing. Now I need the 3D modeling software to create it.

Can anyone help???

Try Pro Engineer the student version. They are relatively inexpensive I think.

I had downloaded it from Kazaa before. Of course I didn't know how to use it so I threw it away.

Why don't you try 3D Studio Max!

I would love to try anything.
BUT

I'm cheap and I don't know where to get it!

Thank you for the program suggestions, but can anyone tell me where I can actually get this stuff? Please?

yes, AutoCAD does 3d.

It'll cost you $3,395.00 for the version I have. But really, 2002 is outdated now since 2004 is out.
I also have the AutoCAD 2002 Bible, ... which you WILL need to learn how to use it.

If you want to try it out, I can hook you up.

i've used auto cad 2000, Mechanical Desktop 3, Solid works 2000, 3D studio max 4.2, Rhinoceros 3D, and lightwave 3D.

like what everyone is saying auto cad it is hard to use if you don't have any guides and don't know all the commands. solid works is pretty easy to use for designing components and assemblies. if you want simple Rhino 3D is pretty simple and really easy to pick up.

are you just going to play around or do some real designs? solid works is the easiest to pick up for designing. and if you want to go high tech comso will integrate with solidworks for FEA to see if the design will work with loads, pressures, and heat.

I've been using Autodesk Inventor. It's made by the same company that make AutoCAD. It is a lot simpler to use, especially for 3D.

For a low cost alternative to AutoCAD, try the shareware Moray (you can test drive it for free) which integrates with the Windows version freeware renderer Persistence of Vision Raytracer, or POV-Ray.

Free add-ons or images created using POV-Ray:

Attached is a cross-eyed stereogram I made using Moray and POV-Ray.
