I miss you guys!
Well, I've got some bandwidth today since everybody is either with family/friends or out drinking so I decided to post and share pics of my car.
It's a little weird being back here after so many years have passed. There aren't as many car enthusiasts up here as I remember either. The only Imprezas I see are GC WRXs and the occasional GC STI. Legacys are far more popular here, but they are mostly BD/BG and BE/BH, not so many BL/BP. It's almost the opposite of what it was like in Tokyo, where most of the cars I saw were new. Driving in Tokyo was insane, but up here in northern Japan it's pretty tame. Gas isn't cheap and the poor exchange rate only makes it worse, so I'm VERY glad I didn't bring my Impreza. The 2.0 liter engine I've got now is much more economical.
I really miss autocross, although driving on the ice/snow is teaching me some new things. I miss having people to talk story with and most of my new coworkers don't care at all about cars, much less Subarus. I did talk a friend into buying a supercharged Subaru Vivio though (It weighs 740kg), but he mainly bought it because he thinks it's "weird and funny looking".
It's boring here, I miss you guys.

welcome back to Japan.
Agreed that things have changed...tuning cars seem to be a dying breed these days. Nissan is no longer the dominant breed on base in Yokosuka. Toyota Cresta, Chasers and Mark II (Tourer V's) have taken over.
Nice to see someone had a white Christmas....then again I drive rear wheel again....
Beautiful Legacy

I haven't heard of any tracks way up here, unless I'm looking for snow rally (I don't know if there really is any up here). And I don't feel like crashing and dying, so none of that for me thanks. I am going to check and see if there are some nice mountain roads though. At least for scenery...
I like Autocross because I know I can go all out and try new things and nothing monumentally bad will happen (like driving off a cliff or crashing into a tree).

And this is my best bet for importation to the US:

I just have to hope that they differentiate the S401 as a different model and not just a trim level. If they consider it just another Legacy, then I may have to get creative...
