I drove the 5.7l a while back. I must say that i was impressed by the power but it felt like i was driving a freight train. It didnt handle very well at all. I hope they made some inprovements to the 05 6.0l. The build quality was a marked improvement above what i was used to in a Pontiac. Probably because it was designed and made by Holden in Aussieland vice the US Pontiac. To me thou its really not worth the pricetag that is on it here. No way i would pay $40k+ for that car. Mebbe $25k-30k but not over $40k.

That's cool as crap. I really like that car. Don't know if I'd buy one, but I'd love for someone to give one to me.

Isn't it more like $33k not $40k, unless there's crazy markup here like on the evo.

05 GTO: hmmmm, Vette powerplant,Vette trans, 400hp. & 400trq. Oh Yeah,lol.

But wait theres more.....how does it look stacked up to the Vette???

GTO:400hp @ 5200rpm,400torque @ 4000rpm

Vette:400hp @ 6000rpm, 400torque @ 4400rpm

GTO:engine displacement(cc's)5970

Vette:engine displacement(cc's)5967

GTO: Weight-3725 lbs.

Vette: (info from two different places) Weight-3179-3288 lbs.

GTO: seats 4

Vette: seats 2

GTO: (MSRP)32,295*

Vette: (MSRP)43,710*

*=standard options in this price, price not including a 1,300.oo** gas guzzler tax
**= gas guzzler tax on automatic only.

on the weight issue,lol--the best case senario is the GTO weighs more by 437 lbs,
on the Worst case senario the GTO weighs more by 546 lbs.

BASIC SCORESare GTO 4 out of 5, Vette 1 out of 5.

Not to mention that the GTO is about $11,415.oo cheaper than the Vette. id take one anyday, lmao. and on the good side EPA results are the same, lol.

EPA: GTO 18/28, Vette 18/28

Bottom line if def pimp one anyday.

Point taken. Both have 2 doors. But I'm a fan of the Vette's body style. Its about the pu$$y facter.
And I drive around in a wagon go figure.
