on that note I am glad to see some club members saying something since this behavior seems to be getting condoned on here...
I was tired... the other guy was driving faster and didn't get pulled over... I could have been going faster...
How about this. It is stupid, you were breaking the law and this is the exact reason why the cops supposedly pick on us.

26 over the limit is not that fast but i should have known better
i usually drive speed limit ! just got careless
now it's gonna cost me my time and money
as for the license i lost it about 4 years ago back when i was still driving hondas lol!
but i would like to say i calmed down alot from then
2 speeding tickets in one night by the same cop !
1 wreakless driving
and
3 driving while intoxicated
= no license for three years unless you want to pay the sr22 insurance premiums!
long time ago but still haunting me.....in different ways sort of.
Whoa. I hope you no longer partake in DWI situations... for your own good & more importantly, for the innocent people who you share the roads with.
I know what you mean about having to adapt when moving back/from the mainland. When I went to college the interstate speed limit was 65, so of course everyone was going like 75 (even the truckers). So, it seems like a lot people (here & in "America") feel there is at least a 10mph cushion from the posted limit. It's not true of course (my neighbor got a ticket for going 5mph over the limit!) but it seems to be that way.
There are lots of people (not you) that attribute their speeding to the lack of a venue like HRP to get it out of their system. I'm willing to bet a good percentage of those same people have never been to HRP. I've only been there as a spectator, so I will never use that as an excuse. If I get a speeding ticket, I'll own up to it & move on... unless there is something worth disputing.
Sorry, but I don't agree that "26 over the posted limit is not that fast." I won't say I've never done that, but I will admit that is too fast on a public highway/Interstate.
