i-clubbers on Kauai?
How many of us here reside in Kauai? How's the Subie community there? With that being said, I guess I should announce that I may be moving there (by myself) for business reasons within the next month or two. I went there this past Monday to check up on the 3 galleries where our stuff is (Hyatt, Marriott, Aloha Images). We may be purchasing a gallery (Aloha Images) there where our art is already being displayed. Since my father will be the one running things here on Oahu, I may have to be the one running things in Kauai. Gotta go where the money is, eh?
I'd really hate to go because EVERYTHING is here! They better have some sort of friggin AutoX there! Are there any shops? Tracks? Meets? If there are no meets, I may as well try to plan things there as well....after I learn the place.
This is pretty damned sudden for me and I know I have little time to prepare. My car is coming with me and I'd like to know that there's somewhere good to take it in-case-sh*t-happens. Since there's nowhere really to drive far, I'm probably not going to be worried about gas mileage. Also, since I'll be making a pretty good income there, I'll be busy on the side making the Daddy Wagon pretty bad as$.
I already await the day of my return...and I didn't even leave yet.
I do look forward to meeting fellow i-clubbers there though. Always good to acquaint myself w/others from the kingdom of "i"

well on my frequent trips to kauai i do NOT see a lot of suby's there. the majority is mostly rentals... the forester and impreza (RS) not 2.5RS GC8 owners that i see there are of the older crowd. there are a couple of EVO's and 1 STI that i've seen. be warned that there are a lot of haole's there that moved to hawaii and try to use pidgen but sound very wierd saying it. they have grown to that way of speaking and speak that way naturally even though it doesn't sound right. that island is heavy for it's vacationers... it is very slow paced and very little to do.
if you do move out there let me know and when i come out that way i'll make sure to give you a call...
as for a track... i've heard that they have one. never seen it. i really don't think they have auto-x but they probably have drag racing. unfortunately if i remember correctly it isn't open as often as HRP is.
gas is more expensive due to the tourist taxation
