Host of bunches 'O lots of pics (not too large, tho. 800x600)
In this thread, there are a few of my house and yard. Many of the crazy opulent houses in the subdivision which is a few hundred meters to my east, a few of the Dalai Lama's brother's house (no joke), the Tibetan Cultural center across the street from him, and a couple that show the parts that are just awaiting the arrival of my car. Figured maybe a couple of y'all might be interested. The only qualifying note is that I'm a terrible photographer. Enjoy.
A couple of my backyard. At promptly 6pm, 8 deer, who're aren't 'cowed' too easily, enter my backyard and tease the crap out of my dogs.
The drive leading up to said opulent houses
A couple of the neighborhoods
****Begin pics of wasteless spending on abodes which most likely cause head of household to commute 50+ miles every day. The ironic thing is that Bloomington is NOT a rich city. Middle to lower middle class. None of these very, very expensive subdivisions were here when I was in school back in 1991-1996. I think that Indianapolis must be expanding so rapidly that folks are having to look 50 miles away for homes.
How would you like a BRIDGE from your house to your garage? THAT'S laziness!
****My house.****
This, upon the hill, is the Dalai Lama's Brother's house. (Someone also said it was his, as well.) Anyhow, when we got here and were just moving in, there was a Tibetan cultural fair going on which sparked Kathy's memory. Apparently while we were still students, Richard Gere would come here to this festival every year. Go figure.
Zoomed. More opulence.
Across the street. Seriously, his house and the cultural center are 200 meters from my house.
DL's yard.
DL's neighbor's yard.
Old time Christian church 2 doors down from DL. [Irony]
Field in front of my house and behind Xtian church.
Posing in front of DL's yard.
Lastly, here are my garage and my goodies I bought while I was deployed.

Great to hear from ya Pat! Glad you're settled in well. You're right about Indy expanding. If you go west of the city on 36, Avon is a LOT more populated. My guess is 10 years or less and the city will be running into Danville!
Let us know how the mods work out for ya!

I really don't know what shops are close. I've never been extremely familiar with the Indy area.
I did a search (u n00b!!! ) and came up with this: http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr...,+IN&oi=localr
I don't know how "Indy Hot Rod Chevy V8 Performance" will treat you, though.
Edit: Isn't IRP close to the Avon area?

It's just enough country and just enough suburb to suit me.
Jason, Nathan, and Andrew, make sure and PM if you get out this way....and anyone else who decides to see how the land-locked live.
