i haven't been there for a couple of years...but i remember it as a graded gravel, red dirt road, dusty and maybe some potholes. yes, car might get dirty and it's been raining on the west side all of last week...

Hey Bran,
PM'ed you my number...
To All: Since we have a sizeable group, we will meet at 0815 and rollout to Camp Timberline at 0830.
I recommend that we carpool.
Here are my usual reminders:
Some things to consider when hiking:
-Wear appropriate clothing...unless you want to have a Mudbutt . Shorts or jogging pants and bring an extra shirt just in case. Weather is very unpredictable in the mountains.
-Hiking shoes is recommended...well let me rephrase this...Hiking shoes is a must. Some members can attest to this. It can get muddy and slippery in some areas and you need a firm footing with lots of grip.
-Bring enough water for everyone and hydrate as needed. You can get dehydrated pretty quickly without you knowing it.
-Bring some quick energy bars or light snacks or fresh fruits. We will be resting as needed.
-Please respect the natural environment. Take all of your rubbish with you. Be courteous to other hikers and other park users. Follow all park rules.

oh good we're starting this early....so we won't burn that quick....the sun is crazy hot! so when you say we carpool...does that mean that whoever decides to leave their car will park it at starbucks or something? coz if that's the case we will be gone for at least 3 hours the shortest.... considering that it's 1.5 hrs one way....

btw, we will start at 1600 feet elevation, so this will be as high as the waahila ridge hike...
