Help: this Sunday, Pulling a donor 5sp & etc

LMK if you are available for helping me pull a tranny this SUNDAY!

I am getting a good deal on this for the leggy and need EVERYTHING pulled off the donor car, Tranny, axles, driveshaft, rear diff, pedal set, master cyl, shift linkage, clutch, flywheel and anything I might be missing.

Justin will be giving me a hand, but I'm sure we could use a few more hands and some expertice.

:RockOn - not mine:

If I'm available and don't have family stuff I'll be down to help you. This one won't be easy though as I know who you're getting this stuff from. The crankshaft cannot be spun due to not having a timing belt being on the engine. I'll let you know. You'll need to bring a jack, jack stands...etc. since I do not believe anything is there. Tools are NOT available and I stress NOT so whatever you think you need bring it.

I'm assuming this will be going into your legacy right? you'll need to by pass the brake inhibitor switch and steering column tumbler lockout feature since your car is currently an automatic. You'll want to get the wheel hubs both front and rear (ebrake connected to rear but not sure if cable length is long enough might have to remove yours and attach to these), front and rear axels, rear diff, peddle set, clutch master, slave cylinder (on transmission), you'll need a manual gauge cluster, manual speed sensor wire that goes from front bulkhead harness to transmission speed sensor, shifter, shift linkage, shift boot and console area for manual legacy, you'll want to pick up a new clutch disc, resurface flywheel, replace throw out bearing, pilot bearing, shift **** (not sure if available), If damaged you might have to buy new clutch cover, make sure you take ALL and I stress ALL manual bolts taken off this car and know where they go.

MANUAL TRANSMISSION FLUID 75w90 for front differential, transmission and rear differential

This all that I can come up with right now from the top of my head. this is no easy feet and can cost money.

all the replaceables, clutch, flywheel, throw outs, i'll prob. be replacing with stock parts.
the stock gauge cluster works for the manual swap. Same wit the speed sensor surprisingly. And then as far as all the pretty interior parts... meh. i dont care, i'll rig up a boot that will work once its all good and done.

That being said, I'd really appreciate the help Jon. You certainly have some first hand experience with it!

the speed sensor does NOT need to be replaced unless it's damaged. what I'm referring to is the speed sensor harness or cable that connects from the main bulkhead harness to the manual transmission. it is not the same between the auto and manual. actually it could be possible since you have a 91 legacy. hopefully its the same if not then you'll have to find out if the manual WRX or Legacy one wll work for your application.

I didn't do what you're doing but I have helped my brother do a lot of auto to manaul swaps on 240's and miatas. The older cars seem to be plug and play but newer cars aren't due to emissions and **** like that. Also different sensors are used if looking at an auto or manual.

I'll send you a link to the swap info if you're interested?

I just want to make sure i have everything pertaining to the tranny on the donor car off so if it's needed, I have it. It is a subie, but I know there may be some weird things going from an 03 impreza to a 91legacy, rather be on the safe side and have junk I need to toss, rather than have to scramble for parts.
