Drevis...supporting HPD??? You okay main?! J/k I think you have to know a PO personally. The HPD i think only gets a certain number of red bordered ones, and a certain number of blue bordered ones. Like one or 2 red, and maybe two or three blue ones. Any PO on the board can correct me if I'm wrong

it doesn't work.
the red one is special issue to family members ONLY (discontinued) since people abuse them and have since changed the color.
please don't post **** like this since there is not right or wrong way to get OUT of a ticket. if you ****ed up take up the concequences.
just because you have a sticker on your car doesn't mean that you can get away with anything.
if you're honestly trying to support HPD (which I think you're not) you should get a HPD sponsorer custom license plate which is an additional payment on your registration and the proceeds go to HPD. that is the ONLY way that you can show support for HPD.
it will however NOT give you a free pass to not getting a ticket.
just thought I'd share

just saying that posting on how to get away from a ticket is not a good thing to put on a public forum.
the only way to not get a ticket is not to break the law.
be humble if you get pulled over. be apologetic (as stated) and if the officer is a nice guy he'll let you go with a warning. but if he sees that you're always getting pulled over for speeding...etc. he may not be so nice.

so when one get's pulled over - in some cases the issuing officer may call the persons family member in HPD to "see" if that person in telling the truth....
in reality it only works if you REALLY know someone.. and that they are basically family.... and only if it's a violation.. for the most part is not criminal....
most cops do not want to tag their fellow co-workers son, daughter or wife(etc.).
i would think it would make for some uneasy work conditions... can you imagine going into a home (domestic situation) and your partner gets into a scuffle with one of the people in the home.. and in the back of your mind you think.. should i help this guy?(he tagged my family last week) i'm not saying it's right.. but i think it's one of those old school things where they take care of each other.
put it this way... the sticker is really just a status thing...unless you really have a family member that works in HPD that will vouch for you when you get pulled over in a minor infraction- it's not really gonna help.
ironically if i ever get pulled over- i'd rather get tagged than to hear it from my uncle for the next 6 months every time we have a cook out....
drevis i have one that you can have.

my friend is a solo biker and he says to either drop is name or show the officer his card.
i got pulled over 4 times but never used it because i felt really uncomfortable about 'dropping a name'. for the most part i was being stupid anyhow:
-speeding through the haleiwa round-about
-driving with my race harness instead of my seat belt
-driving with my race harness instead of my seat belt *again*
-running a "Right Turn on Red"
