Hehehe. Ethernet is Ethernet, eh?

So if I threw a Novell file/print server to a NT MCSE I bet he'd cry!

Or if I threw a VINES server at an Exchange 5.5 admin I bet he'd make a puddle.

Don't forget good ol "sendmail".....Exchange guy probably ask "where's the GUI for this thing?"

Yeah....Novell was ruling until MS decided to get the "RED" out.

Well, hey! Let's talk about how to time an M240 MG's rate of fire (rapid, sustained or cyclic) at the support by fire position, in order to figure out how long to echelon the fires from B2, F18, 155mm, 105mm, 81mm, then 60mm. Then as those systems all X each other out, when to cycle in the AH64's and OH58's. How do to all of this on three nets, BN to talk to the Aircraft, company to talk to the Assault and SBF platoons, and Fires to control the fire support assets.

You guys kill me.

Easy, ..... just talk to the planners.

That's just it. For all that crap, I'm the planner and the synchronizer on the ground.

No matter how much like a private my battalion commander treats me when we're back here, if/when we go to combat, he can't run the battle from his TOC tent. He has to rely on me to factor all that stuff into the battle. In planning, I ask for the world and then get what they give me. I then figure out what's the best timing to bring all of those systems to bear on the enemy.

What's cool is, as sexy as the life of an Air Force pilot is, he is but a tool for me to use, or to focus, on the enemy. Same for the 'cyclic' jockeys like Joey wants to be. You're either a transporter or a weapons platform. Either way, you're something to carry something the Infantry commander needs into the battle.

Don't sweat the hijack. Y'all have pretty much already answered my question.

Oh yeah. Update is that Z-1 performance might be able to cut me a deal on a V3 or V4 6spd. I just don't know how much of the rest of the drivetrain I'll have to upgrade as well. If this doesn't pan out, then I'm probably going to just end up buying the $2700 USDM WRX tranny from Schuman.

If you spend that much, might as well go ahead with Chalaks but it won't solve the weak casing issue though.

That is at a significant discount is what I understand.

Apparently the USDM STI, which doesn't have a part number according to Braun, is going to be something like $5500. And I guess that it is more dependant on the ECU. For instance, when you put it into reverse, it releases the AWD capability or something.

While I'm at it, I've got to ask a question that is probably appropriate, but I'm asking because I can't find the answer nor the significance anywhere, and I'd love to know.

If your ratios are:
3.083 (1st), 2.062 (2nd), 1.545 (3rd), 1.151 (4th), 0.825 (5th)

And I guess your final drive is 3.90, a) what does that mean? and b) what is the relationship between 3.90 and the rest of the gear ratios?

1st gear: Engine (input shaft of the transmission) turns 3.083 times for every time the output shaft of the transmission turns once.

3.90 differential/final drive ratio: output shaft of transmission turns 3.90 times before the axles make 1 full revolution.
