The driver that turns when you bang it with a hammer is pretty common. I forget the proper name but it's used all the time when you take off stock brake discs. It's very likely you'll strip the phillips screws if you dont use the tool. I borrowed one from a friend a couple times.

Yep, impact drivers are a godsend! Didn't know they made any that you could throw a lug socket on though... Have just seen them with Philip's screwdriver tips...
