Help!!!
Just wondering if anyone here has some input on this: https://www.i-club.com/forums/engine-power-ej20t-pre-2006-wrx-jdm-60/help-boost-leak-63334/
If I could get someone locally to check it out, I'd appreciate it.

I've had "whistling" since late last year when I installed my downpipe. I know that's just the sound of the turbo spooling up. The way things are now.....
I floor it
hear turbo spooling up
around 7 lbs, ANOTHER whistling sound joins in with the original. This 2nd sound also seems to be responsible for me losing around 3 lbs of boost.

No. I'm still using the stock BOV. I've been wondering today if that's possibly the problem. If the BOV was opening/closing really fast at the higher pressures, I think it might actually make the sound I'm getting. Does anyone have a stock BOV lying around that I can swap in for a quick run?

J,
So you are still having problems with boost leak and additional knocking? Did you remove the intake? I talked to two people at work about the track and a conversation of your probs came up. They both said about timing...have you re-adjusted your timing? That may help, I guess. Just wanted to pass that tidbit of info to you unless you already knew that. Good luck!

I removed the intake today, and went back to the stock airbox. Plugged in my previous Stage2 map that I tuned down to a 13.8...meaning---I ran 13.8 on that map with NO knock, and peaked at 17lbs of boost.
Taking the intake off definitely helped out with my knock situations, which is what I expected. I didn't have 1 knock event in 3 runs today. I just didn't have the time, patience, or knowledge right now to tune for it. However, I'm still not seeing any boost over 14.8 or so. On this exact same map, I used to see 17 lbs peak, and a LOT of time at 15 & 16 lbs.
What's kind of impressive to me, is that the 13.8 was before the uppipe. Now, with the uppipe, and losing 2.5 to 3 lbs of boost, I'm still running consistent 13.9's. I didn't think the uppipe would give me that much of a gain. If I could get this figured out, I just might find out!
