the rumble is not as noticable. I have obx headers...right now I have the axel back off. It's way too loud, but I just wanted to hear how it would sound. I'm getting a 5zigen cat-back next week and then I will have a full exhaust...I got the cobb down pipe.

it's not "HEADERS" it is "HEADER".
we only have ONE exhaust manifold that is split up into 3 pieces.
the "Subaru Rumble" isn't going to be as noticeable since the factory exhaust manifold pieces create this from the way it's designed.

It kinda was a pain because it has the up-pipe included and we had to take the turbo off. When we thought we had it done before Shane left I noticed oil on the ground well it turned out we didn't have the oil return line all the way there was a small portion on the back side we couldn't see from up top but could once we crawled under the car and it was a pain to get all the way on but we did. I was surprised the OBX is well built and fit nice once w way to install it..And yes Jon is correct our car along with all I-4 we only have one "header".

why did you guys have to take out the turbo?
is the uppipe appart of the pipping or is it seperate and you had to join the two?
to me this sounds like a typical uppipe install which doesn't call for removal of the turbo. I could be wrong though...
from what I see, you should have been able to remove the exhaust manifold at the bottom of the engine then remove the nut holding in the engine mount on the passenger side. get a 2x4 block of wood and jack up the engine by the oil pan and take out the exsisting factory uppipe... then put back in reverse order but with the OBX header/uppipe.

It just seemed easier to remove the turbo.. I have never installed a Up-pipe or a header on a Suby now if the header did not have a up-pipe as part of it it would have been really easy and took no time at all.

Scratching head....scrch,scrch...
Hmmm...just did this with Kevin...We removed my stock manifold and up-pipe without taking the turbo out or cranking up the engine...then replaced it with the two piece header/up-pipe...again, by just maneuvering the up-pipe until it went back in...
There was no real effort...just needed some patience...
1. Remove your downpipe (you need to do this to reach two of the nuts holding the up-pipe flange in place (5 all together). The downpipe covers these two nuts.
2. Loosen and remove the manifold (take off all the heat shields around the exhaust manifold, and 02 Sensor)and manifold to up-pipe connection...
3. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the up-pipe to the turbo...carefully lower and maneuver the up-pipe out...
This is what we did...not too much problems except for those hard to reach nuts and bolts...
