I got an e-mail from X-Box Live and it stated that the special was for $39.99/year. The offer expires on Oct. 31st. After that, a one year Gold subscription will be $59.99.

Just got a notice when I signed on to my 360 that the price is $29.99/12 months plus a free Halo avatar helmet. Too good of a deal to pass up.
