Hi,
Our Gruppe-S V2 Manifolds are unequal length and retain the Suby boxer sound. We've had good success with them and they make pretty good power. Roughly 10-15whp and 15-20+ tq.

Here's a dyno

Dyno graphs shows testing with 04 WRX catted downpipe, uppipe, exhaust, versus addition of manifold only.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks,
Preston

does it suffer a little on the low end torque?

Actually there is a bit of a torque loss due to the headers being cold when installed on the car (we did back to back tests). If you ever do back to back pulls and heat up both the stock and the Gruppe-S headers, there is almost no low-end torque loss. That said the Gruppe-S headers do take a bit longer to heat up.

I personally would have imagined the reverse to be true (due to the thicker material in the stock headers) but we have seen this time and time again on the dyno. cheers

OEM is cast iron = heavier but retains heat much better.
Aftermarket = stainless steel, lighter but heat loss...

Just heat wrap the header. I did mine, and it takes about 15 mins to get to normal operating temp -- as a plus it keeps the rest of your engine bay a lil cooler. You really wouldn't be driving your engine hard cold anyhow.

I just installed mine mine two days ago. I had them wrapped very nicely. Each tube was wrapped seperately to the collector. I really should have taken pictures because... I cut it all off!!! For a street car I just didn't want to run the risk of having it soak up fluid and catch on fire. What I ended up doing was giving the pipe to Jeremy at Crucial racing and having him cera-metalic coat the sucker. Full coating inside and out. Pretty sweet and I get all the benefits of wrap without the risk. Plus they look better, not that it is that important. As sound goes; the idle is mean!!! Real deep and bassy. It certainly sounds different same boxer sound just much smoother sounding. Not quite as choppy. Sounds pretty tough if you are running cattless. I am still on stock tune until the 18th. Initial impression; not bad. Seems to have a little bit more mid/top end. Something is definately different, shift points seemed to have changed. My guess is I will see good numbers from this when I get my tune.

There is a little bit more noise from the engine bay due to the thickness in material. Overall I'd say no. Highway cruising actually seems to be quieter.

Just by the umbers I'd say that it is with a tune. The mods listed would support that therory.
