Ya know what? I wouldn't be suprised if Ted would honor a group buy. Worth a try. It'd be tough to find that many willing to sign up for castration.

I'd be up for that...I just need a nice size diamond. I"m going with mom's engagement setting for that "family heirloom" thing...

just mention "pimp" and ted will know exactly who you're talking about. heehhe.

before you buy, make sure you know your prices! a good gauge is bluenile.com or costco's special order diamond buying program.

diamonds are my best friend /\

my wife got her ring custom made too. it was actually cheaper than a premade one we saw at different stores. they make a sample ring from a plastic wax and if you like it they will then pore a cast of it. awesome service.

Here's the cute little promise ring I picked up today.

It's a vintage piece that is most likely from the 1950's or 1960's.

It's a platinum band, .5ct center stone (H/VS1) and .12ctw side stones.

I love it! It's got a scratch and a ding here and there, but it's got LOTS of chutzpah - is full of good karma and my Taiwanese hippy chick is going to love it!

Sorry for the crappy photos. I didn't realize taking pictures of something so small and shiny was this difficult!

Giving a promise ring usually signifies the promise or intent of wedding the person you are giving it to...

I usually buy from a fmaily friend in Chinatown. Way cheaper than most of the stores mentioned and same quality. I usually justhave her make custom stuff though.

Yes. I feel that we are at the point in our relationship where I want to let her know that it is something special and I am dedicated to her - but it's premature for me to give her a full-blown engagement ring.

Thanks, Guys!
