Girodisc's Magic Pads Review...

Girodisc Magic Pads Review:
Replace both Front and Rear Pads @ close to 45K miles on the sti...

costs: $150 for both front and rear pads...

Shipping: on the website shipping would have been $70 ...I emailed them to ask why shipping was so expensive since they also have an ebay account and ship for $10.. Martin (owner?) just told me to phone in the order... so shipping was approx $10 to our doorstep

Install: just like the factory oem pads...

Drive: normal.. no squeaks rattles or clunks from the brakes...cant really say about brake dust since i havent cleaned the rims yet...so when i clean them...i will let you know how much dust will accumulate with the stock bbs....

if your autocrossing/scca/roadracing....i doubt this is the pads for you...since my wife puts more daily driver mileage...i thought i would give these pads a try especially for the budget

link for the pads:

After a week long daily driver test...glad to report..no noise or clunks...and the dust is way way less than the OEM pads...the bbs rims look exactly as the weekend that i put them on...I still can see gold through a light haze of black gook... if it had been the OEM pads...the rims would be black...

I've heard a lot of good things about these pads. I've been researching but haven't been able to get much info. Since you have a lot of miles on them, I figure you'd know so here's a couple questions:

How is the initial bite (Cold and at normal temp)?
How is the pedal feel (Cold and at normal temp)?
How is the rotor wear, if any?
Have you had to bleed/flush the brakes yet?

EDIT: Oh yeah: What other pads have you tried? If you've tried Hawk HPS, Porterfield R4S, or Hawk HP Plus, how does it compare?

sorry...i have nothing to compare it with other than stock and my wife drives it more than I...

to me...it feels good...though I cant say its the best because i know theres great pads out there...as far as rotor wear...just as gentle as the stock...if you dont have any brake pulsations @ the time of changing your pads...you probably could just slap in the pads...which i did and still have no brake pulsations issues...so basically the pics of the rotors are the original uncut @ 63K miles...

bleed/flush brakes? No...If you autocross its a good idea...it also depends on how you drive or should i say how aggressive you drive...though for most daily drivers...you wont need to bleed/flush
