Getting your car Keyed is no fun.
Got keyed almost the whole passenger side when I parked at Checkers by Punahou and S. King st.
Was only there for 10 minutes to buy a $1.50 funnel.
Really bummed.
I wasn't even parked close to anyone nor did I park illegally or blocked anyone at all.
Some of the deep scratches went down to bare metal.
Any suggestions on how to touch up the scratches will be most appreciated. Any good products out there that is tried and proven?
I have a Obsidian Black LGT.

if its down to the metal your best bet is to have that area re-painted and blended in. Get with Brandon (Bran808) I am sure he can give you pointers or at least give you a quote.

I vote for the unpleasant event for that ****.

Ugh, that sucks. I used to live right by there, never thought there'd be so much hate in that 'hood.
Like 4080 said, though, talk to Bran808. I'm sure he'll be able to help you out.

I thought "keying" a car was so, last decade.. WTF yo. Sorry to hear about your incident.
Unfortunately I think, IDEALLY every panel that was affected needs to be resprayed in it's entirety, but i'm very behind on collision repair technology so blending techniques could have improved.. ?
Good Luck to ya.

sorry to hear that Simon...
I know how it feels...we went to the Bishop Museum...enjoyed the day...when we came out...our Honda Pilot was keyed similar to yours...made for a sick day and I have not visited that place to date...
Things like this make you want to hate...but hating takes soo much out of you...let it go, move on, and as Chris said...let Karma take control...
I'll see you soon.

That sucks Simon,..
I used to work there right across the street and go to checkers all the time,..bad luck on your part,.. Honestly, keying is really a juvenile thing and I Blame kids rather than adults unless you have a jealous gf or wife...we had a problem with the Washington kids kicking gravel around the driveway at our workplace. Did you go to checkers around 230 pm?
My quarter panel got keyed at don quiote at pearl city last week but it can be wet sanded and polished out since it's just the clear coat,...I think it's some kind of initiation thing or trying to impress situation for kids as theY door ding cars in parking lots too,...happened with my LGT when I went to blockbuster w/ no cars around and some kid was sitting on the curb,..I knew something was up and I kept an eye on him, but by the the time I checked out he was gone and a door ding was there on my driver door,..

Thanks for the empathy, folks. I suppose it happens to other unsuspecting people too.
Yah, moving forward is best for both anger management and peace of mind.
So, does anyone know of any off the shelf products that can at least diminish the gouges and scratches? Short of calling in the big guns and cost like Brandon or a mobile retouch company, any tried and true suggestions will be most helpful and appreciated.
Besides, this may give me the excuse to get a new Hippo front bumper I have been eyeing for the past 4 years.... LOL.

Dang. That sux. I thought keying a car died a long time ago. Might be a way for a shop to make an extra dollar. Glad I got full coverage on my wagon and a good insurance company. I have had my fair share of the serial keyer back in the day. In the end, I hope they get what's comin to em.
