Premium has been $3.90 on the mainland for several weeks now. Diesel has been hovering around $4.49. And this isn't Southern California! Gas prices on Oahu seem to be more stable than throughout most of the mainland.

Actually, premium prices just dropped by about 10 cents during the past few days locally. Local gas stations have been gouging premium gas since hurricane Katrina, charging 30 to 45 cents more than regular. Now the price spread is dropping back down to 20 cents.

I was thinking of installing a boost pressure activated seat shocker, so that I would get a jolt of electricity every time I hit boost.
But then, there's a chance I may enjoy the feeling and actually get decreased gas mileage, so the idea went on the backburner.

The screaming sound you'd make could also be an alternative to a vented BOV, and you could probably place the shocker in different places of your seat to get different sounds.

Oil could could last 20 years, 40 years, 60 years...doesn't matter, it is still finite. Running out of gasoline isn't so much of a problem, we'll figure out other ways to get around (ethanol, fuel cells, biking ), but we're also running out of plastic and synthetics at the same time. Think about all the plastic and synthetic materials that are made from the chemical cocktail we call crude oil. Making ethanol or what-have-you will be child's-play compared to making plastics from scratch. and what are we doing with all our synthetic goods in the meantime? Burning it.
Apologies if that's a little pessimistic, but I don't think people appreciate how far oil extends into our lives.

Japan should be very close to the top 10. Between $7-$8 right now.

My wrx only gets half that, and costs me $4.50/gal @ 18 MPG, at 93 octane. Needless to say I don't drive it as much anymore.
Yaris FTW! I am sorta looking to get a used 3dr.

I filled up on Sunday @ $3.99 here in Seattle.
