Bran, I think she meant furikake chix. I don't remember ever seeing their katsu on the menu.

KJ's has awesome mac (spaghetti style) salad. My favorite thing there is the kalua pig plate. Top 3 most popular are furikake chicken, fried chix, and kalua plate.

Hmmm, something to think about. I'm seriously considering making a run up to the Windward side to check this place out.

Pioneer Chicken was good! The restaurant at Woolworths, had chicken that was almost like Pioneer Chicken. Damn.. I am really showing my age. My vote would go to Popeye's for what is available now. I am not sure if they are still open, I used to eat at a place called Cajoe's Chicken by Lagoon Drive, where all the car dealerships are. The chicken there was good.

Damn, Chris I remember that place, it was awesome. Seriously that is old skool.

Yeah...

After thinking about it...I really never saw chicken katsu there...I was going to mention the furikake chicken but I didn't want to deviate from the fried chicken theme...it is good though...basically chicken strips dipped in this teri like sauce and sprinkled with furikake...

My favorite is still the fried chicken there though...now, I'm getting hungry!

Ichiriki (On Piikoi St, below Rockabella) has some pretty good "JDM" Chicken Karaage. Comes with a little dollop of mayo and sriracha.
