the porsche 917 and testorossa 512 both have flat 12s if you want to listen to what they sound like. the 'flat' is a misnomer because it's not a boxer engine at all, just a 180 degree v12. it uses the same basic crank as an inline six and all 12 cylinders have the smoothest running because all types of harmonic distortions are cancelled.
