I know you wanna go BBK but i got a Q for you. why? (not being a dick) just want to know what for? performance? looks? or better braking?

if you are planning on putting down lots more HP then i would say go for it. i mean that mod ain't a cheap mod ya know.

if you want it to stop better have you done the following? ss lines, performance pads, performance fluids? I did this about a 6months ago and noticed a big difference in my rs brakes. Honestly my brakes stop better then my wifes OBS with the wrx swapped brakes and oem pads and lines and her brakes are bigger them mine. but in the end it is you money and hell we all know BBK are teh sexy. i just wanted to give you other options first.

oh you know what you may like.... the 06-07 wrx brakes the 4/2 pots and there red also

Another reason to consider wider wheels is that ultimately your tires are going to dictate your stopping power. You can have monster brakes, but with narrow tires the tires will still be the limiting factor.

If you're set on your wheels, why not see if you can sell yours and buy the same wheels in a wider width? I'm guessing you wouldn't have a hard time selling them there.

For those who know me (well, obvious not really), I'm all about function over form... with the occasional JDM bling factor. Oh well, can't please them all and I'm not going to.

What about that one kit that just gives you a bigger rotor but you keep the same caliper? I don't know what brand it is...maybe Hawk?

For my auto-x'ing pads, lines and fluid is good enough so far. I'd only go BBK if I got huge skills and went time attack or full course racing. I've never seen you drive...well never in anger...so i have no idea of your skills but I would spend the money on driving school. Well at least, that's where I'm at...no more mods until the driver gets a mod.

LOL...very few of us on here can REALLY drive...like take our cars to 100%. I can comfortably say I take my car to about 60%.

Auto-xing doesn't require aftermarket brakes in my opinion. I agree that tracking the car is when big brake kits are needed. Depending on the use, you might be able to get away with larger rotors and the same calipers. I would suggest the usual pads, fluid, lines, master cylinder brace and brake ducts. Larger rotors allow for greater heat dispersal all things being equal.

In order of importance, I would say fluid and brake ducts are very close (and certainly at the top of the list). I've cooked Motul RBF600 at the track with aftermarket brakes. With ducts I probably would've been ok. I now run Castrol SRF and ducts when racing.

Next would be pads. This is a pro/con situation as aggressive pads will run extremely hot and weak pads won't stop you efficiently.

Upgraded lines and a master cylinder brace give you a better "feel", but don't dismiss this as unnecessary. Your confidence in your brakes and the modulation you feel comfortable with is a big deal.

If I didn't make this clear, if you're tracking the car, you need brake ducts and high quality brake fluid. Period.
