First Time STI Owner - 2015 STI Crystal White Pearl
Hi everyone,
I just picked up a brand spankin' new 2015 STI from Santiago (shaggadelic) and I'd like to say that I'm a noob when it comes to these new Subaru's. I've only owned a fast FWD turbo car 4 years ago and I'm now getting my feet wet in AWD boxer turbos. First mod I plan to do is a blow-off valve. Any recommendations? My future plans with this car is to live a quarter mile at a time.
Thanks,
Joe

Greetings Joe!
I myself am a new owner of an STI (GR) purchased in December. You'll find that the group of people on here are very welcoming. I suggest you come out to one of the meets/cruises put together by members of i-club where you can talk story and learn about your car/community.
As far as mods go, a BOV is a mod that is usually frowned upon unless you've decided to upgrade your turbo a our factory BPV does a good job up recirculating on our stock turbos. Sure, you can purchase one that recirculates but again your BPV does a great job on its own.
Something you might want to consider as a first mod is an accessport. I'm not familiar with the newest stock tune, but I can assure you that a simple flashing of the ECU with a Stage 1 off-the-shelf map would smooth out the powerband and make the car a little more enjoyable to drive. An exhaust will also give your car a more throaty/rumble sound to it, making your drive more enjoyable (performance gains are minimal at best with a cat-back).
If you desire more power, a downpipe with a stage 2 OTS map would give a great boost in power just by getting rid of the stock restricted downpipe. Other bolt ons you could throw on include uppipe, headers, ebcs, intake and would be best suited to get a custom tune to get the most out of those parts. I would get the BOV last, hope that helps.
My names Nick btw, so if u see me around at the cruises/meets say wassup!

Every manufacturer has been spending the past few months tearing apart the 2015s and creating compatible aftermarket parts. Check into grabbing a set of unequal length headers if you're looking for that signature Subaru rumble
Can't wait to meet you (and your car!) in person! Come out to the day cruise on the 27th, you won't be sorry!
I'm AJ, by the way, and welcome!

Congrats on new car and welcome. Why, Why, Why with the BOV!! Sure rice it up already, lol. I would recommend some type of exhaust first. That way you can get that boxer rumble sound better! Also tint the windows, the car always look better with tint IMO.

Congrats, but I recommend against installing an aftermarket BPV unless you have a large enough aftermarket turbo to warrant it. White is the best color for cars, since it automatically adds like 10 horsepower.

Joe or should i call you Toretto #2.... NO BOV you dont need it and you will have to tune after getting one! stickers only if you wanna go faster and exhaust if you dont like the neighbors. i say study the boxer engine since youre new and then decide what you want, that engine has been around you shouldnt have trouble searching. LOL btw nice car!! seen it in grey too, FKN SEXY it is strating to grown on ppl
