First mods...

Well, other than maintenance items, the first mods to my 951 (aka 944 Turbo) were done this past week. A HKS BOV (temporary) and cone filter were thrown on to start clearing room for other stuff. I wanted to get the stock airbox out of there so that the Turbo to IC pipe can now be replaced w/ something shorter and straighter. Here are some pics. The pipe to be replaced is the one w/ the yellow sticker on it.

Before:

After:

I also tossed the cruise control to make some room. I plan on making a mount for the air flow meter and repositioning the filter to the driver's side front corner behind the headlight (there's a hole there).

I got the Turbo to IC pipe replaced with something straighter (less restriction, better flow) and redid some vacuum lines as well as install some new plug wires (Magnecore)

edit: I'm still working on the bracket which will relocate the air filter to right behind the driver's side headlight. A Cusco catch can will then be placed where the air filter is now.

Is that an awkward place to have a turbo or is it just me?

What about heat and shtuffs?

Anyways, I'm a big fan of this project as well!

It's a strange layout. The exhaust manifold is over on the passenger side then it gets routed over to the drivers side where the turbo sits (right under the intake manifold). There are some heat shields there but I'll also be ceramic coating a few things.

BTW: Before I got this car I thought only Subies had an uppipe :lol

Don't know yet. I barely have time to work on it and just about no time to drive it. I'll take her for a spin this weekend though. Maybe a cruise up Tantlus and some pics.
