Very nice.
Was it possible to mount the Hellas one to each side of the center grille? A buddy of mine with an '06 is getting some, just want to see if it can be done.

That intercooler looks good.

yes there is a little lag... but... not so much that I hate it and definately not as much as the wrx's have seen.. the VF39 does a decent job working with it...

on top of that I'm still @ stage 1 (Cobb AP) reflash... waiting on a DP
to come back from Hi-Tech Coatings, stage 2 should fix any remaining lag issues.

in the meantime,... charge temps are NOTICABLY lower...

audible turbo and BOV sounds now, so it 'sounds' kewl... (yes I have a bit of ricer in my soul)

and I'm looking at possibly taking advantage of that tuner that might come to town... no matter how you look at it, the car will need to be 'tuned' after this type of modification to get the most benefits out of it.

XS Power (SS Auto Chrome)

basically it's a Turbo XS knock off and the kit comes with everything except a few small pieces..

Reinforced Silicone reducer (2.75 -> 2.5)

TXS style BOV Flange -> stock BOV + elbow shaped radiator hose
-or-
TXS Type H34 (recirculating with 90* adapter)

3" ID Universal Air filter (conical and 4.5" or shorter to ensure fitment)

assorted clamps

NOTE:
on a '06 you'll need to remove the windshield washer reservoir... I just plumbed the TMIC Sprayer to my windshield sprayers... it works until i find a smaller or more suitable method of getting water to my windshield ;P lol

I actually thought the 06 had a smaller fascia opening, but apparently it's larger and longer.
It still looks nice, though.

No problem, Burt. It was all a part of my plan to help us shed our jedi inspired, DSM roots.LOL

Hey, we put this huge piece of metal in front of the radiator, and the car's not on damn fire. WTF? Remember those days?

Good Job.

It's logical that, with the stock wastegate gain and duty cycle settings, there will be some lag.

I had to up some of the wastegate duty cycles in the lower rpm, but right now, I notice no lag. But this is with some altering of the tables. When I first put the FMIC in, I wasn't hitting the boost targets in every gear. I can now hit all of my target boost levels in all gears, so it can be "tuned" out so to speak.

You can ask Tazer. I gave him a ride to prove that the lag is a function of the closed loop boost control settings being tuned for the TMIC. I think you can get it to spool fairly "close" to a stage II with some alterations.
