Unhappy Finally pulled my CEL codes

Sorry for posting technical stuff in the local forum, but this sort of has local relevance. It looks like my CEL's maybe of the power-robbing variety which may explain my lackluster traps.

The first one was a P0335 - Crankshaft position sensor circuit malfunction. The 2nd one was a P0442 - Evaporative emission control system malfunction --> smells like I have a gas leak.

Is the crank sensor immediately visible or do I have to take off stuff to get to it? As for the 2nd one, I assuming it's fuel pump related?

I believe the crank sensor was one of the two we pulled on top in order to be able to crank the engine w/o it starting in order to lube the turbo.

I've still got the fuel smell in my car even today. My fix was to put a rag under that access cover over the fuel pump. It's not a 100% solution because while I smell gas a lot less frequently, I still do smell it.

Yep the crank sensor one is expected. Double-check the connection and throw vegetables at Ed if it's loose.

Clear the codes and see which comes back.

(gets tomatoes ready)

The sensors are on the driver's side right? Is there a good reference point in the engine bay to trace them back to?

Thanks!

Under the alternator. I'm sure the connector was at least on securely at one point in time after the install because the car would not have started without the crank sensor signal.

I'm sure you just need to clear the code.

You're not nitpicking at all... It's understandably your "baby".
