I saw it in Waipahu a couple days ago, thought it looked pretty cool as it is. But maybe I just don't understand how cool it was supposed to look.

Oh, and that NSX's motor is a grenade with the pin pulled.

no, that NSX is a carefully planned, fully built monster! Of course, ... now with the nitrous, they want to hit 900HP. It is built as a track car, ... so the 600hp numbers are a safe area to be in.

the paint was supposed to be the Mercedes chrome (we "think"), .... if you've seen one of the Mercedes, you'd know. But even if it wasn't, ... if you stand next to the car, it looks like it was painted with glossy silver primer. I don't mean to hate on it so much, ... but everyone at the Supra meet felt the same, ... at least I'm not alone.. LOL

"Track" as in road course, or "track" as in drag strip? If "track" = road course, then I don't think that engine will survive for long. I base that on a friend of mine, Doug Hayashi (of www.nsxfiles.com fame), who I would venture to say has more road course time in an NSX than anyone else in the States. Read through his site and see how many carefully planned, fully built race motors he's been through, and he's not making anywhere near that much power.

It's still impressive, don't get me wrong, I just don't think it'll last.

Smile

That became their shops purpose in life, was to build bad *** NSX's (yes, track = road course). They built quite a few 500hp+ cars for people around the states, ... people blew them up (or wrecked them), b/c they turned up the boost, or could not handle them on the track (drove them as if they were a "regular" NSX). They branded their cars as being "FX500", which was for 500hp, ... but since have been able to safely tune for more. They have addressed cooling and other issues with a lot of custom work.

My comment is derived from the experience of building a $47k Impreza that don't work. Pardon the cynicism.

Who are "they", by the way? I guess I could search for FX500 and see what I find.
