Exhaust Advise please
I was thinking of getting the SPT Exhaust being offered by the dealer but i dont know much about it and they couldnt really explain to me the change in Horsepower if theres any at all. Would this be a good move to start with? I just want to start with stage 2 set up which seems to be the best bang for my buck. Just dont know which exhausts are good. I was also looking at Borla exhaust. Any Advise?

Power mods on a car with a dealer warranty really isn't your best move. For what you would spend going stage 2 you could easily get some springs and sways, and the exhaust (which wouldn't void your warranty).

Get the SPT. Leave it stock, flog it for a year or two. Sell SPT and buy a Strömung. If it hasn't blown up in 2 years you'll have the suspension done and can safely go stage 2. It's pretty safe at that point.

catback is just gonna give you more noise. you won't notice much power gain. i would say drive it stock for a while and see what parts of the car you want to change first. if you haven't broken it in yet or done any spirited driving you won't really know where to invest the $. make a plan for what you want and stick to it. worst thing you can do is be in a rush to add things and end up buying things twice. unless you're made of money. (p.s. if you are made of money i hope you like to share)

If you want more power, then normally the idea is to remove the greatest restrictions on power, which on a stock car is not the catback. It's the down pipe on the newer cars, followed by the stock exhaust manifold and stock ECU mapping.
It's perfectly fine to want a catback just to get the cool sound though. That's a different question though.

Are you concerned about your warranty?
If you flash your car you will most likely not be able to get warranty work done as far as the engine goes.
That being said the vast majority of people i know with newer cars had reflashed their car with in days/weeks of getting the car.

Checkout Nameless Performance. Have the axleback on my gf's 2.5i and it sounds great with very minimal drone. A lot of guys I see at meets here have the turboback on their WRXs and they also sound great.

I agree with the general consensus here, you should wait on power mods. You'll be surprise how fun these cars are right out of the box. Besides, why would you do power mods when you could VIP it!
