Do you have PR license plates? If you do, that might be a arguing point. If it's not registered in PR, you need to find out if you can get it registered before the Army ships it. I don't know if it will work but it only makes sense that they would let a PR car back to it's home without getting taxed( theoretically you register it where you bought it) but us military guys get different deals for that. If you have the plates then you "bought it" in PR so you wouldn't need to "import" it.

I currently have my car in Hawaii with Oahu License plates. But my drivers license is from PR.
