OK last time and I'll never say anything about it again but "I" would use the heads you have and just have some head work done on them you would be saving money. But this is just my $.02 and thats all it is.....

OK last time and I'll never say anything about it again but "I" would use the 04 Ver.8 heads w/AVCS on your set up. Do you remember the time we had the Delta Dash in my car and @ 5800 RPM the graph was off the hook. But this is just my $.02 and thats all it is.....

Jeremiah,

I've just found a deal for v7 complete but what I'm going to do is email a few places (axis...) and find out how much they charge and what would be the benefit over stock v7 (or v8).

Dan, there's more to it than that. It may be on the net, but no one on Oahu...anyone we know, has rewired ECU to suit AVCS. The guy with the v7 for sale may also be selling the ECU as well.

San, I'm with you, but like Jeremiah says, I already have the heads. The unknown quantity is how much for the hone? How much for the larger valve train? How much for the cams.... I'm going to string this guy who's selling the v7 until I can get answers to these questions.

JDM V8 heads have larger ports than V7 RA heads. The V8 RA heads have the largest of ports. There is somone on Oahu that can rewire the AVCS (sub-sonic).

The V7 block has forged pistons. The V8 JDM RA's blocks were replaced with hyperc. pistons.

Currently, Quirt/ DPR/ I-Speed, and Nino's are testing street cams for the WRX. They are targeting a power band that is streetable (earlier power compared to more aggresive cams).

I've also found a shop that can port and bench flow heads. They are PB Machine, located in the airport side. They quoted me about $300 -$400 for porting.

Did I mention that there is also another guy on the island that rewired his wagon to accomodate an AVCS equiped 2.5l STi motor?

Did he rewire it or did someone do it for him?

Also, I don't think that I'll be on the island that long whenever I get back, so I'm unsure how much time I'll have on my timeline for something such as that. I'll be pulling my car out of storage pretty much to put it on a boat. Don't know how much time will be in between the two events.
