Ej22t Swap
Haven't done much research yet. But i was just wondering if anyone has swapped a EJ22Tfrom a 94 Legacy with a SOHC EJ25 into a 02 OBS?

Do you mean swap a ej22t from the legacy into a 02 OBS with a ej251 or do you actually mean a ej22t with a 251 head into a 02 OBS?
Don't know anyone locally unless its a shinobi project or I just wasn't paying attention. Wire merging unless you swap the entire harness. Also not sure about the cross member, i think you will have to use the legacy cross member. What are your power goals?? Or you could just go hybrid.

Yes, I plan on swapping the ej22t from the legacy into the OBS.
From what i read about putting the heads from the ej251 onto the ej22t its not worth the modifications for the power gains, I'd personally rather just P&P the ej22's heads and rebuild the engine with some upgrades.
As far as power gains I know it wont have alot more power but it'll still be "more power".
I'm thinking that the best thing to do about the electrical, is to just swap the whole wireing harness and ECU. but im concerned about the fact that the OBS has a 5 speed tranny and the legacy is automatic.
So could i just reflash the ECU from the legacy or would i have to hunt a ECU down for a 94 legacy ej22t manual tranny?
Thanks for all the help guys, really appreciate it.

if you want your engine to be a full EJ22T, you can get EJ22 NA heads and throw EJ22T cams in. the '22 NA has 1mm larger valves than the '22T, but the 22T cams better than the '22 NA. you'll have the best of both worlds from each head.
as far as the wiring goes, you can't use auto ecu's for manual applications. also, the old turbo legacy's are like my car, OBD1. you won't be able to reflash it. i suggest a very good piggyback if you use your stock ecu, or standalone for the best performance and driveability.

So if i were to run the ej22t with the ej22 n/a heads, ej22t cam, ej22t harness and the AEM F/I controller piggyback.
I shouldnt have too much problems... right?
Also would the flywheel on the ej22t bolt up with the 02 OBS trans?

the flywheel bolts onto the engine, but i don't know about the input shaft splines matching. i believe if its awd, they all should be the same. try researching that.

it's not worth frankensteining the the EJ20/EJ25, however they both share the same wiring architecture. so i'd swap the 05 STi in.
the EJ22T will be harder to wire into your rex because its an older engine. you're better off selling it to me.

your EJ22T won't mate up with any of the two, different phases.
