Dumb RS question...

Okay this question may prove that I am completely retarded, but hopefully not. I have been working on my '98 RS, and when installing the ALK I noticed that there is not a subframe in the front of the car, or at least not what I am used to seeing under newer impreza's. Now was the car just designed differently, is the non-turbo just lacking the front subframe, is there a front subframe that is just completely different from the newer imprezas? Thanks for the help.

Nate

If there is one it is nothing at all like the one on my STi. There is nothing running below the control arms.

I guess that's an additional reason why it's not dangerous to take it off of my WRX. It's just excess weight.

I'm not going to do it, but I'm not afraid to.

the alk makes the front pretty damn stiffer when you hit hard bumps, but the overall feel is worth it imo

I did the ALK a week ago, I was just asking about the sub-frame. I don't know why your ALK stiffened your ride Justin. I have one on both my imprezas, and I notice a difference in take off, braking, and turning, but not in the overall ride of the car. Maybe I just don't feel it through my fat ***.
