Drop height ?? auto-x

Too all of you with coilovers, what's a good all around drop height for auto-x, I mean the lowest you can go and not rub at soloII or track days. Or too make things simpler, what's a good " finger gap " front and rear. Also, what are your thoughts on equal drop F/R too keep balance or, drop the front more for " front rake" / equal out the F to R fender gap ? this is all from a performance standpoint.

Thanks,
Steve

what "drop" you will want will depend on what suspension you have, and rims/tires. Since you asked about coilovers, I'll give my opinion on that. With 17" rims w/225 tires, just a 'finger gap' from tire to fender with a 'stiff' dampening setting and with whatever F/R bias you want, ... you probably won't rub too much. Of course it matters a lot what other suspension components you have.

You just have to play with it to find out what's best for you. Do you have sway bars? Strut bars? End-Links? Anti-Lift Kit? What size rims/tires? Adjustable dampening?
etc etc etc

Thumbs up

FWIW, forget the "rake" look. I ran that on my VR6 Jetta to get even wheel gaps...handling was not improved. The H&R's should be preset from the factory...try that setting first. Lower as needed. I think a good alignment is key with any setup. I'll be waiting to be your first passenger next week!
