Actually, no. 
Women don't want to hear the ACTUAL truth. They want to hear lies that we tell them is the truth. So I voted no.

I cannot pretend to have *the* correct responses, but I do remember wimping out in those & similar situations. My more recent sort of response to appearance evaluations is, "I have absolutely no sense of women's fashions ...". Always met with a look of disgust. You do realize that these are for manipulation & Dr Laura crucifies women that do this to "their men". Unless of course she is obviously stunning, then that response is easy.
It wasn't until I told this wife that I was leaving (& not for another woman either ... so there are no excuses or someone else to blame). Since this has sunk in to her, she has been a different person. I have not gotten any of this sort of nonsense since. These past few months have not been hostile at all ... I have no agenda or ulterior motive, but to get out. Fact of the matter, if she had not been so awful to my children, I think that she could almost be a keeper. But, somethings are unforgiveable.
