Yep, You need a front plate in hawaii, it sucks......But I don't use it, I have it hanging on my bedroom wall, and my tint is illegal, 20% all around

**Cough** On a side note, I been givin many tickets for it....In hawaii it's around $60 for "No front plate" and $275 a window for illegal tint!!!

Why do I still do it? you ask...I know cops and have hook ups for saftey checks

actually please clarify what island youre moving to. oahu is the only dumb one with RECON. if youre moving to other islands, you dont have to worry about alot of other "issues".

RECON = reconstruction permit... basically sort of a more complete safety check... when changing your suspension or other parts of the vehicle you need to get this permit for your vehicle stating it's within factory allignment specs, suspension moves, etc. kinda hokey, but then again it could be worse... We don't have smog/emission testing in hawaii...

No I'm not military, actually moving back home ( was born in Kaneohe and raised there ) for a change of pace and because I was able to get an internship in town. I will be living very close to MCBH though.

You could keep whatever plates you have on the car now. I think there are a few extra hoops to jump through though to do that.

I'm going to keep the florida plate on my car.

Yes... recon is good fun. Stay legal and you'll have no need to worry. Front plate can be mounted anywhere on the bumper. Any questions about recon?

A lot of info here.
