About the go mods:
1. Yes, some of us have spent WAY too much money on making our cars go fast in a straight line.
2. You don't hear a lot from those with minimal/no mods... at least not when we're talking gear.

However, there are a lot of quieter guys on here, like I used to be, that have no mods, or limited handling mods. Other people have lots of handling mods and no "go-mods". A good example is WillRX. That dude has put so much money into his suspension set-up it is sickening... or it just makes me envious.

Thereason you hear/read so much about go-mods is that they are easy (particularly here in Hawaii with HRP) to quantify. You put on a new uppipe or exhaust, you go down to the track and clock a few tenths faster. Very visible gains.

Handling mods are a lot harder to write about for a few reasons:
1. We only Auto-X once a month
2. Every month the track is a different setup, there fore there are radically different times
3. Most categories have you running against some REALLY good drivers. One guy (Russ) consistently waxes my *** (he's surprisingly gentle ) even though the only upgrade he was running, for a while, was Rear Anti-Sway bars. He STILL HAD STOCK TIRES!
4. It is hard to go into detail about auto-x without getting into some terms that not EVERYBODY is familiar with. Can you give me a concise definition of: oversteer, understeer, Apex, triangle, open slalom, forced slalom, and torque-steer? I can tell you what most of them are, but I had to do some research and drive for 6-months, and I still am not 100% sure about some of them.

I may sound like an *** in this post, but I am simply trying to answer your question, and explain the reason "why." (A difficult proposition in any endeavor) Once again, I invite you to come out to the next Auto-X. April 20th. Yes, it's Easter Sunday, but I'm going to Sunrise Service just so I can race. Besides, on the 8th day, God created AWD and we all know WWJD? (What Would Jesus Drive?)
