Cusco Dual Oil Catch Can Setup...

Hey...thanks to Jon for bringing up the fact that two catch cans were really necessary on an STI to filter out the oil from the intake tract...and Brad for providing me with the second Cusco catch can...

After a few searches on I-Club, NASIOC, and IWSTI...with links provided by Ojichan STI and Bran808...I came up with the following install today...I had to use a bracket to attach the catch can lower along the strut tower and relocate my alarm horn...but it all came out clean and everything works great...

Here are some pics:

Ya Roy...it's cool...just need to get a bunch of metal brackets to see which works the best...

I luckily found one that worked perfectly..I even bent it around the strut tower...you need to see this...

Why two catch cans ?

Are they run in series, one after another ?

Or are they filtering from two different points.

no...they are not in series,

they are filtering two different points...

1) PCV
2) Crankcase

I'm running two oil catch cans now to keep the PCV and crankcase ventilations separate. They both dump back into the intake eventually though, with or without catch cans...

Hmm.. where did you get the line/hoses for the catch can? I think i'd like to replace my crankcase line, I have a pvc-ish type one right now, but it seems to kink too easily. I just can't find something that fits both the intake "bung" so to speak and the metal pipework on the intercooler. If it fits the intercooler, it won't fit on the intake pipe and vice-versa. Maybe silicone? ;d

I thought you were selling the car?

Regardless...I'm in awe of your engine bay...so clean and neat!

It looks OEM to the untrained eye.
