I just got it in the mail today too. Seems like an easy fix, they're just gonna install a cruise control cable retaining clip. Seems like Subaru is worried that the cruise control cable could come out of it's track and get stuck with your throttle open.

I got my letter from Subaru today too..
Now I gotta figure out when I can take my car down there. I hate going there... I might be tempted.. They'll have STi's on the lot for sale.

Got the letter today too! Sounds like a pretty scary defect, if it happens it would probably scare the poop out of even experienced drivers! Here's a snipit of the letter that I received today:
"Subaru has determined that your vehicle may have been manufactured with a cruise control cable that could come out of its track on the cruise control lever and lodge on the control lever tab when the accelerator pedal is released. If this condition occurs, the throttle will not return to the idle position and instead will remain in an open position. This condition could occur ANY time without prior notice, EVEN while the cruise control is turned OFF."
I'm going to the local Subie dealership ASAP (or when I get a chance ) to get it fixed.
