Crazy Dom's at it again.
Well, here goes nothing.
I'm going to attempt to change a rod bearing in my Suby with the engine in the car still. I practiced on one of the many engines in my garage. So I'm going to give it a shot today... in my driveway.
Anyone wanna call guiness or just swing buy to stand under the tarp with me is welcome.
I realize that the rod and crank probably need massive amounts of machining. However, I'm going to give it a shot anyway. I'm relying on the fact that they are both forged... It's really just an experiment to see how long this will last before it ****s itself again. I may not get my 2.5L finished in time to move to VA.

I see that you actually swapped the crank bearing with the engine still in the car, but I meant besides that, what state of build is the car in? Is it the same RST that I remember?

not really.
TWE Springs, COBB Cams, Garrett GT 3071R Turbo, TMIC (finally intercooled), Hydra Nemesis w/WBO2, Currently running an EJ22T shortblock (that I hate) with my 2.5L being built as we speak with Wiseco pistons, pauter rods and COBB bearings- I would like to go with an STi crank, but I can't afford one right now. Ordering 1000cc injectors from RCEng because these 550's are maxing out too soon (they only support 350HP).

As someone else already asked, where you gonna be in VA? I'll be transfering to the DC area in a couple months. We'll have to get together at some point so I can see this beast. I know just the meeting place (regardless of where you end up in VA, this will work out)...
Three letters for ya - V I R !!! www.virclub.com - I can't wait to get back there.
