Question Craftsman Professional 7.5 amp Impact Wrench Kit??

I don't have room or the $$$ for an Air Impact Wrench. Is this a good alternative? I'm getting ready for some suspension mods?

240 lbs./ft. torque
is pretty weak for suspension mods. You're still going to be breaking out the 4 ft. breaker bar on a pretty regular basis.

It'd be dope for tire swaps/rotations though.

it sucks, its made by black and decker.

if you're using it for wheels, then its alright. but for anything else theres not enough power to break anything.

i believe Wes has the B&D one(same thing as the Craftsman), you could ask him how he likes it. I think Steven has an older Craftsman one.

EDIT: I did remember when I was installing my springs when Wes and I tried to use his impact in removing that 19mm camber bolt. No luck at all, wouldn't even budge.

550 is actually considered pretty low but enough for a regular user. Professional users will actually use a 600-800 ft/lb impact tool...especially ones made by ingersol rand or chicago pneumatic.

honestly, don't buy professional craftsman power tools, they are teh suck.

Why don't you just go to the Autocrafts shop on post?

They let me do mine?

I haven't found a bolt yet that with a couple squirts of WD40 and my fancy breaker bar I can't get off. My 2 1/4 jack handle works really good. And I do everything by myself because I end up doing things late at night or when I am bored... Just use brute strengh...better for ya..

On a slightly related note...

A while back b_drift was changing out his wheels/suspension settings at Auto-x with a rechargeable impact driver of sorts... which one was it?

Dan,

remember you're always welcome to borrow my compressor and impact gun. It's available to any reliable member on this board.

it is a makita rated at about 75lbs/ft. i use a breaker to loosen before impact and use the impact to get the wheel on before torque wrenching it. it speeds up things alot. even more useful at drift events. wheeeeeee i get to use it wednesday again......but no nice red craftsman alum jack.......just a checkers one..... b
