Honestly, I'd get the new WRXs now that it has the same wide body style and bumpers as the STI. Power-wise probably not a whole lot of difference, and it's about $8K less than the STI! Use that money for the perfect suspension setup, exhaust, tune, wheels/tires, etc.

This is the way I see it: if you can afford the STI, then get the STI.
But if you can't afford an STI, then it's really not a bad compromise to "settle" for the WRX.
But if price isn't a factor and you're comparing the two, the STI is a no brainer.

They were basically the same from 93-07 anyways now there going back to there roots only the 08-10 were there big body differences between the wrx & Sti.

But for early 93-96's L's and base models, the classic WRX/STi full body conversion parts can cost about $500+ average, not including matching paint.
I'm definitely getting this model. House first though...
