Thumbs up COBB AccessECU thoughts

1. More boost is good
2. Smooth delivery of power is good
3. Throttle response is good-It is much easier to rev match when downshifting
4. More boost is good
5. When boost comes on, it comes on strong (need a frickin boost gauge)
6. Engine is much calmer at high revs (doesn't sound like it's working as hard). This caused me to bounce off the rev-limiter in 2nd because "it didn't sound right."
7. I'm very curious to see how it does on the quarter
8. More boost is good
9. No flashing CEL's at high revs is good (this is in reference to my Unichip)
10. Cobb's customer service is CRAZY good.

I'll get into more details later when I have more time to really drive the car. I was tired last night, and had the wife in the car the rest of the time. I also need to clean the inside of my windshield.

What stage did you get? I'm looking to get stage 2 after I put on a turboback exhaust.
Does Cobb provide CEL fixes for the O2 Sensor and EGT CEL now?
Thanks...

uhmmm, .... nooooooooooo

I think it may take longer than I'd like to actually put together a "stage 4" rex than I had hoped. I spent too much money already ... in another month though ....

We will release the maps for the VF30/VF34 when we release more of our own kits. We are holding off on releasing more maps until then.

Thanks,

O2 sensor CEL is gone with the reflash. I'm not sure about EGT though. The thing is, if you call them before you send it (which you're supposed to do anyway) they can tell you. Even if it's not part of the standard reflash, they can add it to you're reflash if you want.

I got the stage 2 after I already had an uppipe, Vishnu turboback, and IC hoses. It's probably the best mod of all those.

So far I'd agree with all of this. I had a vishnu Stage 1 plus the IC hoses, and everything works well for me. Plus, no problems with the UD pulley, either. For $395 you can't beat the price.

I got to drive it some more today, and I really like the pull when the boost kicks in. When starting from a stoplight normally (not a drag-start) and stomping on the gas, the pull when it hits boost is almost INSTANT. There is very little in-between boost. Still real laggy down low (need more displacement) but when boost is on, it's on hard.

Also, 3rd gear boost is so nice. Pulling pass slow jackasses on the Kam highway was easier and effortless.

Really looking forward to tomorrow night at el tracko when I can hopefully break into the 13's.

Also, the car just SINGS up in the 6k+ RPM range. I still need to add Xylene or the 76-special, but even at plain old military-post 92 octane it's real nice.

BTW, I got the stage 2 93 octane map. Mine is revision 1.6.

Now I'm just waiting for the bad things to show up. So far everything has been peachy. Inevitably I'm going to have something go wrong, or find out something HORRIBLE about my setup, but until then, I'm a happy man.
