Cleaning the engine
My engine area is getting pretty dusty and I was wondering what you guys are using to take care of this? I have heard that the engine cleaner sprays you can buy from checkers dry out rubber bushings and anything rubber really. Anyone know if this is true? Well post up with what you do or know.
Thanks,
Jess

Car Info: 2011 White Forester.
I cover battery and alternator, soak the whole engine bay with Simple Green.
Use a soft brush to clean it, then rinse everything.
Last touch is to dry it up! for rubber stuff I use some silicon spray and so far so good...

this method might not be the *BEST* way but it is a fast way
cover the alternator get some degreaser/simple green...etc. and spray the entire engine. then get out your trusty pressure washer. put it in the fan setting then spray the **** out of your engine... dont' get to close to things as you could put a hole in something. repeat as needed.
speaking of witch i definately need to do this!
