Can anyone recommend a rim repair guy?

I have Todd's Alloy wheel repair and contacted him, but anyone have any experiences/great results repairing curbed wheels and paint matching? Can a curbed rim be repaired with the tire on the rim? Check out the pics on the Servco link,..

FYI I have a Advan RGII rim in gold to repair.

I could use a name and phone number please, thanks!!!

That's the same guy we use. He's cool and does a pretty good job too. Never had him repair and refinish a gold wheel before though.

thats the guy BMW of honolulu uses, good results from his work. the downside is that, you have to watch what kind of chemicals you use to clean the repaired rim. he refinishes the rim with regular paint as he can't just powdercoat it... just stay away from wheel acids and you will be fine.

kevin,

SOrry to hear/see the Rim in bad shape.I know how you feel bro.I have a set of Bronze VOLK TE37's and about a month ago, I almost got ran off the road by a SUV.Curbed the **** out of my rim to avoid getting hit.(Long Story)

Well I called Vakamon and they said $700 and a 3 month wait for a new rim.Hell No!!! I can't wait that long and I don't have $700 bucks lying around ,so I started doing some research.Found only one guy.Todd aka Alloy Wheel Specialist. So i called him, Quote from him was 100+tax per Rim. He asked me to meet him up to see the damage. It was worst then yours bro! So i told him that I could drop off the rim tomorrow. He said "ok". So I did. Cool thing is, he does the work with the tire still on the rim,all you have to do is take the rim off. Plus he dropped the Rim off at my work place because it was on his way the work.

I was so surprised on the out come it looked like a brand new rim...

So thumbs up for Todd.
LOrenzo

P.S. Todd does Rims repairs on BMW and Benz!

Since you mention it. I myself don't use any of the special wheel cleaners...just regular car washing soap. Seems to clean the stuff just fine and I am always sketchy on which special wheel cleaner I would use.

^^^The stuff that Jimi uses

from A.C.S. works great!

He brought it over to my house and helped me detail my car one day...can't remember the name or check on it since I am not at home, but it really takes off the crud from the wheels in a heartbeat. Faster than anything else I've used with less need for scrubbing.

But like he said, it is pretty strong stuff and you wouldn't want to leave it on your wheels for long...

I need to get two minor curbs repaired as well as paint my wheels...

Todd does pretty damn good work for the price. I had 2 kacked STi rims...one was curbed to all hell andthe other looked like someone sanblasted it with gravel chips. The curbed rim was too damaged (bent spoke) so Todd spent a few weeks with the rim HAND SANDING to remove all the pits and scratches. I got the rim back and it looked great.
