calling all photoshop gurus.. Photoshop help
whats the best way to make an image t-shirt printable/friendly in photoshop..
I'm talking converting the photo to a one color shape to take to the printing company..
im looking at something more along the lines of this.. (see image of red fur lion)
the 2nd image I made from setting the opacity of the real image very low and using the Polygonal Lasso tool to cut out shapes of the fur and fill them in white on a new layer (which is really irritating! and inaccurate!!)
what im really asking is that is there a way using a filter or any other process to make it T-Shirt ready (and in one color)
thanks..

Hey, What's up, you need to call the printing place and ask the guy if it is better if you use a vector graphic instead of jpeg or a photoshop file. This way the resolution of the picture will not change depending on the size you make it. First Figure out the size of the design and ask the guy what would be the best way for you to send it to him for printing. Depending on the press he has and the amount of colors. But is really for that.
This way there is no confusion and your graphic will come out the way you want it to look.
NA MEAN.....

basically I want to lion in a solid color.. on a red shirt.. (white ink on red)..
I'm trying to do a conversion of the lion in which it still looks like a lion but not too detailed where it's real messy to be printed on a t-shirt.. I'm not sure if that makes sense...
Ultimately I'd want to place this graphical lion in a circle to make a Team Logo and maybe make a sticker to make this even more clear on how clean I want the design.

ahh it seems as though i looked into what mystic said about vectors.
my friend said what i'm trying to do is vector out the lion (which is going to be real complicated.. but at least it's the right process)
so my guess is this persons logo is made with vectors.. somebody correct me..
